The 2018 Edelman Trust Barometer, a global survey of people across 28 countries, has been released showing trust in each of Australia’s four key institutions of government, business, media and NGOs has declined for the second consecutive year
Trust also fell in each of the 15 sectors tracked by the Trust Barometer.
The energy sector suffered the greatest fall, dropping 11 percentage points to 39%, to surpass financial services as the least trusted sector.
Education, healthcare, and technology, despite declining in trust by 3 percentage points each, are the most trusted sectors in the economy, as this table shows.
