Adam Bain, Twitter’s president of revenue, is quite the evangelist of the service.
After requesting that the attendees at the IAB MIXX conference follow him — Bain only has 6,500 or so — the former News Corp executive told a story about how using Twitter helped him avoid the London riots.
“I was there opening up our U.K. office. We’re going to put 10 people there servicing marketers and agencies in and around London.
My timing there was kind of interesting. As we were launching our first campaigns, I literally arrived right in the middle of a riot. You can actually see. These are real pictures that people inside the riot were tweeting from the actual location.
It was a really good story as I was going through the U.K. actually using the platform whether it was safe to go home or not.”
