Tunisia has just shut down its border with Libya because of an overwhelming flow of refugees.Around 75,000 Libyans have entered Tunisia since Feb. 20, according to the UN High Commission for Refugees, creating a “precarious” situation.

At least 25,000 more have fled to Egypt, says the UN.

Even if Qaddafi falls, many Libyans may attempt not to return to what many perceive as a failed state. As with the Palestinians refugees, Libya’s exiled population could become a burden for nearby Arab states.
