JOBS REPORT: 192K New Jobs, Unemployment Rate FALLS Below 9%

The number:


192K new jobs is right in line.

The unemployment rate fell to 8.9%.

Private sector payrolls rose 222K.

There were good revisions to both January and December numbers.

Background: No special introduction needed! After several disappointments in a row, analysts are looking for 185-200K new jobs and an unemployment rate around 9.1%.

Some other numbers (via FT). Hourly earnings are expected to rise 0.2%. The average workweek is expected to be 34.3
