Yesterday we brought you our list of the sexiest business reporters working today.
Of course, Maria Bartiromo deserves special notice. The original money honey has been the inspiration for a generation of business reporters and personally defined the now standard report from the floor of the stock exchange.
Maria is great at interviewing, terrific at landing media-shy big names for her show, and able to provide penetrating market analysis. But she’s also got some incredible hair. The ever-changing mane is as unpredictable as the stock market.
So we decided to bring you a random walk through Maria Bartiromo’s hair.
In this vintage publicity pic, Maria proves she can pull off the short haircut. Great bone structure, this one.
Very few photographs with this style exist on the interweb, so perhaps it is her special ET hair. For some reason this picture reminds us of Rachel Dratch, formerly of Saturday Night Live and a sometimes 30 Rock guest star.
With earrings and hair skimming her shoulders, Ms. Bartiromo proves one can do semi-soft for evening. We call this anchor-to-gala hair.
Clearly Maria likes volume for evening. The earring/necklace/embroidered leaf dress combo is a little much. But, hey, it was September 2007 and thus before rocking carats of emeralds was too ostentatious.
A hairstyle for the ages - we've all had it, we'll probably all have it again. Sure the caramel highlights are a bit aggressive, but we can't expect Maria to be perfect all the time.
A no nonsense, just-the-facts style. Side swept bangs and just below shoulder length, it's a classic. Also, her highlights look fantastic. This could be our all time favourite.
This is a lot of hair. While we do not know if the Money Honey is rocking extensions, it sort of looks like she is. This is an elaborate and expensive mullet, but a mullet nonetheless.
There is a decent chance she had to rush into the studio and did not have time for hair and make up on this day. It was November 12, 2007, the financial crisis was heating up and people were looking to Maria for answers, not style tips.
A guess as to what she is thinking: 'Oh, stop. They have me in front of this weird faux skyline, I'm wearing orange and eggplant and I had no time for hair. Deal with it.'
Her bangs look a little skater punk in this screen shot from July 22. One rarely sees the lighter-at-the-tips-than-at-the-roots look. Trend alert!
