A group of private Saudi divers built the first-ever underwater mosque off the waters of Tabuk, a Saudi Arabian city near the Jordanian border, according to Emirates 24/7.The divers, who used plastic pipes filled with sand to construct the symbolic mosque, were finished with the project in time for their afternoon prayers, Emirates 24/7 reported.

This underwater mosque is part of a recent trend of underwater destinations; Dubai World recently signed a contract to build an underwater hotel called the World Discus Hotel.
