Take A Look At 'The Fancy' App Made By The Company Apple Is Interested In Buying

Over the weekend we broke news Apple is interested in purchasing the company behind one of our favourite apps, The Fancy.

We’ve been using The Fancy for a while now. It gives us access to items that we probably wouldn’t be able to find elsewhere. The Fancy’s killer feature is its ability to purchase items instead of just liking them.

The Fancy is a social version of Amazon. It’s like Pinterest, but with a heavier emphasis on e-commerce.

Our sources say Apple is interested in The Fancy because it wants to get more revenue from the hundreds of millions of iTunes accounts it has.

We’ve put together this walk through of the app to show you what Apple is interested in.

Tap to open...

We decided to sign in with Facebook but you can create an account directly through the app.

We're in! The Fancy organizes items with huge photos. You can tap any one for more info. What we really like about The Fancy is if we see something we like we can buy it right through the app.

Here are some more items. The Fancy has items sorted by category making it really easy to find things you're interested in.

Here is a Bluetooth earpiece. If we really liked this we could Fancy it so we can see it later.

This retro phone looks pretty cool. We really like this and it's easy to buy.

Just tap the 'Add To Cart' button at the top, and it's added.

Tap the top left corner and it will reveal options for the app.

Here are all the Settings for your account and the app.

You can manage things like your timeline and what appears when you are browsing the app.

The iPhone app is equally cool. Tap to open.

Sign in with that same account that you did on the iPad.

Because of the smaller screen we can only see one thing at a time.

The iPhone app has the same feel and it's easy to access options.

You can view and manage your notifications in order to stay on top of what's happening.

Here are some of the categories you can browse.

Obviously we were interested in gadgets.

This one looks pretty cool.

We love how we can find almost anything using the app.

It's simple to Fancy items on the iPhone, just tap the Fancy button.

The app even has deals!

If you're looking for something specific, you can choose items by Brand & Stores instead of just categories.

Users can feel free to contribute items to the site as well. It's very simple.

Here is our cart.

And if we ordered something we could track that here.

In addition to Brands & Stores you can follow individuals who have similar interests. Items they Fancy will show up in your Timeline.

Why we like the Fancy

So, that's The Fancy. It can't replace Amazon for us because Amazon has a deeper selection. However, we think this is a great app for curation and for finding rare items we wouldn't otherwise know about.
