The Facebook iPad App Is (Finally) Out -- Here's What It Looks Like

The Facebook iPad app is finally out!We’re looking for it in the App Store, and thus far we can’t find it. It will probably be there soon enough.

Facebook’s Leon Dubinsky highlighted some of its new features in a blog post. Users will be able to chat directly with other iPad users, play games in full-screen mode, and watch movies in high resolution.

But the big deal is pictures. Scrolling through your photo library will be gorgeous, and full-screen views are pretty sweet as well.

Additionally, Facebook has launched its HTML5 platform for mobile apps.  This could be a big development down the road, as Facebook centres itself on Apps. This could be the first viable web-based App Store alternative.
