The Euro Is Soaring Amid All This Bank Recapitalization Talk

The euro has made a big comeback since falling off sharply early last week. Given the optimistic news out of Europe lately, this is not surprising.

EU politicians are finally talking about bank recapitalization, the European Financial Stability Facility is inches away from approval, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy are saying that they’ll have a solution to the eurozone crisis “by the end of the month.”

Meanwhile, the euro has climbed 2.01% since Friday, its biggest gain since March 2009.
