The CommBank phone app and the bank’s online payments system stopped working today.
Australia’s largest bank confirmed issues with Visa card transactions at CBA merchant terminals and payments via NetBank and CommBank apps.
Later in the day the services started to come back.
“Transfers and payments are now working in NetBank and the CommBank app,” the bank says.
“As we restore services some users may experience log-on taking a little longer than normal. We’re sorry – we realise this isn’t the best start to a Monday and we appreciate your patience.”
The Commonwealth has 6.5 million active digital customers and gets 5.1 million mobile app logins each day.
