This extraordinary chart shows how expensive WWII was for the US

Wars do not come cheap.

Between the cost of supplies, lost economic output, and, most importantly, human lives, war always comes with a great cost. In the past 100 years, this has been especially true for the United States as the country has moved from World War I to World War II to eventually reachin the current War on Terror.

The following graphic, from the Master of American History program at Norwich University, shows how the costs of WWI, WWII, and the War on Terror compare.
