Every man must eat, and for Wall Streeter’s, only the best will do.Enter The Breslin, a stylised version of English pub fair that has all of New York talking about succulent lamb burgers and roast pig dinner extravaganzas. Executive chef April Bloomfield has constructed a menu of seemingly simple items that would still satisfy the most fastidious of food critics.

As for the ambiance, it doesn’t hurt that the restaurant is connected to the Ace Hotel’s lounge — a chic but relaxing room that has become one of the hottest late night spots in the city.

Naturally all that richness attracts high flying clientele, and Wall Streeters are no exception. Not to say that this restaurant is out of reach for anyone else. The Breslin has a ‘no reservations’ policy (except for the pig dinners, of course), so anyone can find themselves waiting and waiting for a chance to try this food.

Honestly, though, it’s completely worth the wait.

This is the chef's table. It's in the centre of the dining room and is reserved for huge parties that do The Breslin's special whole roast pig dinner. There are multiple seatings every night but getting a reservation is tough.

There's a window in the dining room that gives restaurant guests a view of the hustle and bustle in the kitchen. It's really cool to see all the action.

Now to start, you might want to order the chicken liver parfait with Madeira jelly. It's incredibly rich and smooth.

A popular choice is the herbed Caesar salad with anchovy croutons. It's tangy and refreshing.

We also recommend the lamb scrumpets with mint vinegar — lamb off the bone, breaded and fried. It's really meaty and absolutely dreamy.

Another popular choice is the oven baked three-cheese sandwich with onion marmalade and mustard. If you like gooey, melty cheese, this is for you.

Swiss chard... enough said. It's an amazing side dish.

There are really no other words to describe the chargrilled lamb burger with feta, cumin mayo and thrice cooked chips other than 'out of this world!' It's juicy and full of flavour.

And you might want to wash it down with a 'Bitches Brew' (awesome name), which includes mescal, tomato juice, fresh lime juice, spices, topped with beer.

Or perhaps the Lust for Life cocktail, which includes gin with lavender, syrup, mint and fresh lemon juice. Imagine summer and that's what it tastes like.

When you're finished, you can enjoy another cocktail, some music (and all the pretty people) in the Ace Hotel lounge.
