Last night, celebs and socials gathered for fashion’s biggest, most exclusive event of the year: The Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.Inside, the gala honored Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada—but the real celebration happened on the red carpet.
There were so many more people we wanted to include in our best and worst list, but here’s a top 13.
BEST: Gwyneth Paltrow in a lilac Prada dress, Prada shoes and Anna Hu hoop earrings. The woman can do no wrong.
WORST: Kirsten Dunst in a pumpkin-coloured, custom-designed dress by Rodarte with Neil Lane jewels. We get it, we just don't like it for the Met Gala.
WORST: Alicia Keys in a Givenchy Haute Couture lady-tuxedo. Ill-fitting drop crotch pants shouldn't even be allowed in the privacy of your own home.
BEST: Camilla Belle in a Ralph Lauren Collection ivory tulle-and-beaded dress with a gothic lip. Brava! Now someone cast this girl in a decent movie already.
WORST: Kristen Wiig in a lace Stella McCartney dress and a darker 'do. We're just not feeling those shoes or jewels with this dress.
BEST: Kate Bosworth, also sporting the black lip, in an edgy, ballerina-inspired Prada frock. So apparently it's OK to wear short dresses to the Met Gala now.
WORST: Kristen Stewart in a Balenciaga dress by by Nicolas Ghesquiere. Maybe a smile would have helped this look?
BEST: Despite Tom Brady's hair-don't, the genetically-blessed couple dazzled the red carpet, with Gisele in a beaded Givenchy Haute Couture gown.
WORST: Mary-Kate Olsen in this Victorian-inspired, custom-designed gown by MK and A's line, The Row. And the mad scientist hair isn't helping things.
BEST: In true Rihanna form, the edgy songstress donned a crocodile applique gown by Tom Ford that showcased her assets.
