The Bernanke Bump: These Emerging Market Sectors Outperform After Fed Easing

Markets have been rising on the mere suggestion of QE after a dovish speech from Fed vice chair Janet Yellen. So what should investors do if it actually happens?

Credit Suisse’s Equity Research team is out with a note this morning that that might appeal to some of the more bullish and risk taking investors out there. The note takes a look at the emerging market sectors that have performed well after rounds of Fed purchases.  

EM performance has been weak lately, but another round of QE and stimulus in China might turn things around. China has already pulled the trigger and its looking increasingly likely that the Fed will as well. History does not always repeat, especially in the market, but this gives an idea of what the shift out of defensive sectors could look like.
