Hello! Here’s what’s happening on Tuesday.

1. President Donald Trump will recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital on Wednesday. US officials confirmed Trump’s decision, but an official statement by Trump moving the US embassy to the city is expected on Wednesday.

2. UK police foiled a terror plot to assassinate Prime Minister Theresa May. Police reportedly believed there were plans to detonate an explosive device at Downing Street and kill May amid the chaos.

3. The US will fly supersonic bombers over the Korean Peninsula on Wednesday. Bombing drills are being conducted as part of a large-scale joint aerial drill between the US and South Korea this week, despite warnings from North Korea.

4. Russia was banned from the Winter Olympics. The unprecedented move, due to state-sponsored cheating, will allow Russian athletes to compete under the Olympic flag.

5. Amazon said its Australian launch was its biggest opening day in history. The online retailer said “tens of thousands” of customers visited the site during the first 24 hours.

6. Yemen’s humanitarian situation will likely worsen.US Defence Secretary Jim Mattis said the killing of former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh on Tuesday will “likely” have a major effect on the civilian population.

7. Syria said it shot down three missiles fired from Israel.Israel has stated it will continue military strikes in Syria to keep Iranian-proxies away from its border, despite international attempts at building a ceasefire.

8.Google is preventing YouTube from working on Amazon products. Google notified Amazon Echo Show owners that they will no longer be able to watch YouTube videos on their gadgets.

9. Honduras’ opposition demanded a runoff presidential election be held if authorities could not deliver a final vote count. Opposition candidate Salvador Nasralla led rallies claiming the president meddled with election results.

10. One of China’s biggest online retailers plans to build 185 drone airports. The airports will help e-commerce products from reach villages, while also delivering rural products across China.
