Every month, CareerCast reports the best and worst cities for finding jobs in America. With surveys from 30 major metro areas across the U.S., CareerCast compares the number of job openings in each area against the population to come up with a per capita job availability index.
These are the 10 metro areas ranked as the best places to find jobs based on numbers in January:
1. Washington D.C.
3. San Francisco
10. New York
The cities with the greatest hiring losses included Memphis (-27%), Cincinnati (-15%), Nashville (-13%), Louisville (-12%), Cleveland (-11%) and Pittsburgh (-10%).
