Tesla stunned the world last March when it introduced its Model 3 electric car, the company’s first affordable vehicle that will finally go into production this year.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who shared the first images of the final production version of the Model 3 on Twitter in mid-July, released the first 30 Model 3 cars to the first 30 customers — all Tesla employees — at a party on July 28. Tesla said it planned to produce around 100 cars in August, more than 1,500 cars in September, and then roughly 20,000 by the end of December.
