Apparently very few people are watching post-season baseball, and we’ll bet even fewer follow the Tampa Bay Rays. (Who’s Evan Longoria? Is he any relation to Eva Longoria? No.)
But the Rays are so confident that they’ll win the American League Championship Series against the Red Sox, that they’re already selling t-shirts saying they’ve won, or, more precisely “We conquered a dynasty and took down Red Sox Nation.”
When Deadspin, which alerted us to this story, first noticed the shirts Saturday morning, they looked very “Dewey Defeats Truman”-esque. (The Rays lost the night before.) But then they won on Saturday and tonight, so perhaps the shirts are turning into a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Red Sox haters, brand new Tampa Bay fans, since they won tonight, well it’s only game 3 so anything could happen, but you might want to consider buying one of the $20 shirts. That also goes for Red Sox fans wanting a “Dewey Defeats Truman” collectible. There are still four games left.
