Taco Bell, home of instant classics like the Dorito Taco and the Nacho Burrito, has decided that it is now wants to be a part of the upscale “fast-casual” elites (like Chipotle). The fast food haven, famous for catering fourth meals to drunken frat boys, is launching the Cantina Bell menu on July 5. The new, fresh-focused menu is by chef Lorena Garcia, who will be on next season’s “Top Chef Masters.” DraftFCB‘s digital and TV campaign for the chain will launch on July 5 as well.Just FYI: Nintendo is planning to revolutionise television. No word yet on how, though.
Deutsch NY has promoted now-former EVP, director of strategic planning Brent Vartan to the role of partner, chief strategy officer. He has been with the agency since 2008 and has spent over 14 years in the industry, working with brands like Monster.com and IKEA.
Project Worldwide, a holding company, has acquired Affinitive, a NY social media agency. Affinitive will add $5-10 million in annual revenue.
