A man has died after a brick wall fell on him at a building site in Sydney’s northwest.

Police say emergency services were called to a property in Carlingford just before 10am on Wednesday, after a brick wall, which was under construction, was blown over in the wind. A 30-year-old man was trapped under the rubble and died.

SafeWork NSW has been notified and police will prepare a report for the coroner.

Another builder, aged 19, was taken to hospital in a critical condition with serious head injuries after another wall collapsed in Kellyville, 36 kms north-west of Sydney’s CBD.

Winds gusts up to 83km/h were recorded on Sydney Harbour and at the airport and up to 91km/h elsewhere.
