The man who killed his two teenage children in Sydney was a financial planner

A man found dead today after he shot and killed his two teenage children has been identified as John Edwards, a 68-year-old Sydney financial planner.

His 15-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter were found dead last night in the house they shared with their mother at Hull Road, West Pennant Hills, after reports of gunshots.

Edwards’ body was found early today with self-inflicted gunshot wounds at a house in Harris Street, Normanhurst.

Police found two guns.

Edwards had been involved in a custody battle with the 36-year-old mother of the children.

Edwards, according to his LinkedIn profile, was a Certified Financial Planner with 37 years of experience as a self-employed businessman.
