College students across every academic discipline want to work for Google after graduation, according to a new survey from employer branding company Universum.
Universum used the results of its annual student survey to rank the most “ideal” employers for college students by five distinct fields: business, engineering, computer science, natural science, and humanities. Google ranked in the top 10 for every list, and even topped Universum’s rankings for business and computer science.
The survey was based on the responses of more than 46,000 undergraduate students.
According to the Wall Street Journal, where we first read about this survey, “Students were asked to identify which companies they were ‘considering,’ based on a list of 230 firms tailored to their disciplines. (They could also write in their own choices.) They then chose up to five ‘ideal’ employers from within that group.”
You can see the full lists of ideal employers at Universum, but here are the top five companies for each discipline:
- Walt Disney Company
- Ernst & Young
- J.P. Morgan
- Lockhead Martin
- General Electric
- National Institutes of Health
- Mayo Clinic
- Centres for Disease Control
- American Cancer Society
- Environmental Protection Agency
