Nervous NBA Players Prepare For Lockout

NBA players are preparing for a potential lockout at season’s end.Their latest move: requesting their salaries be paid in 18 smaller installments rather than the typical 12-month plan, ESPN Magazine reports.

It’s just a little bit of fiscal caution from the notoriously irresponsible NBA players.

The move guarantees players’ bank accounts continue to be replenished, even in the event of a work stoppage, through January 2012.

Oklahoma City forward Nick Collison said he wouldn’t even touch the monthly checks that constitute his $6.75M salary at all this year.
