Director Steven Soderbergh Is Writing A Novella On Twitter

Steven Soderbergh

Oscar-winning “Traffic” and “Magic Mike” director Steven Soderbergh’s latest project is writing a novella … on Twitter.

It’s titled “Glue” and he posted the first seven chapters of his crime mystery on Sunday.

The 50-year-old has 10 previous writing credits to his name, including 1989’s “Sex, Lies, and Videotape” and 2002’s “Solaris.”

Soderbergh hinted he was working on a new writing/Twitter project in February, telling Collider of his Tweeting habits:

“… What will happen is I build up a bunch of stuff and blow it out all at the same time.  I don’t know if that’s the way you’re supposed to do it, but that’s the way it’s happening.  I’m about a week away from another burst of tweets.  It’s fun to have, it’s kind of like having a pseudonym, it’s kind of like being Peter Andrews, I feel I can hide behind that, which is fun.”

On his unverified but confirmed account @Bitchuation, Soderbergh announced the new project to his measly 5,737 followers:

The first chapter begins in Amsterdam. The novella even includes some photos to set the scene:

The text continues in a later chapter:
