The zombie extras in AMC’s television show “The Walking Dead” barely resemble humans.
But the shows’ producers made a video so anyone can look like a zombie.
With a few purchases from the costume store, like latex and gelatin, and some household materials like food colouring and oatmeal, you’ll be looking scary in no time.
If indeed the zombiepocalypse is upon us, these tips could come in handy for blending in.
To create the creepy look of decomposing skin, he mixes oatmeal and latex and spreads them on the face.
He then applies gelatin where he wants wounds to appear. He carefully microwaves the substance in a paper cup until it's half-melted.
The artist then puts tissues on the nose and other parts of the face to create more of a layered look.
Now it's time to cover it all up in a flesh tone foundation. The artists cuts up a make-up brush so the skin still doesn't look smooth.
Then he uses some dark powder to add shadows around the bones in the face and make his subject look even more decomposed.
To fill in the gelatin wounds and make them look realistic, he mixes red food colouring and corn syrup and paints them on.
