Kirby Wilson, the running backs coach at the Pittsburgh Steelers, was “badly burned” in a house fire early this morning, according to The Post Gazette.The fire broke out at around 3:00 am, and Wilson was taken to the hospital. Wilson’s current condition is unknown, as is the cause of the fire.
Steelers president Art Rooney released the following statement (via The Post-Gazette):
“First and foremost our thoughts and prayers are with Kirby and his entire family. We are saddened to hear about his unfortunate situation but we know that he has the best medical care in the country treating him. The entire organisation is praying for Kirby to have a full recovery and we will be by his side through this difficult time.”
Wilson has burns over 30-50% of his body and is in a medically induced coma according to a tweet from Post-Gazette writer Gerry Dulac.
