Starbucks just opened a new concept store south of Seattle, and it’s pretty innovative. The Reclamation Drive-Thru is made out of repurposed shipping containers, and Starbucks has managed to make it look pretty awesome.While they probably shouldn’t be considered a fad yet, shipping container buildings have become more prominent in recent years. For Starbucks, the store itself looks like a gimmick, but it’s also part of a global initiative to encourage green building.
We may see more of these pop up in the future. Is it part of a new branding plan? Perhaps in part, but for right now it’s likely just there to grab attention for the brand and the cause it’s trying to champion. It’s working, and attracting the eyes of many.
