As fans are celebrating Major League Baseball’s Opening Day, and the New York Yankees are reveling in their first win of the season against the Detroit Tigers (final score: 6-3), two of their stars in pinstripes likely aren’t overjoyed about their luck… in real estate. Both Mariano Rivera and Jorge Posada are still trying to sell their Tampa, Florida homes that have each been on the market for over a year.
The Yanks' star closer is offering his 9,250 square-foot home, situated on over 1.25 acres, for just under $9 million.
The opulent estate features 7 bedrooms, 7 full baths, 3 half baths, a modern cook's kitchen, a library, theatre, billiard room with a custom bar, exercise room, and a play area.
Outside offers just as much elegance, with a heated pool and spa and an outdoor kitchen. There's also a guest house and a gated motor court with a 5-car garage.
Yankee's slugger, Jorge Posada, (can we get a 'Hip Hip, Jorge!'?) isn't including his furniture in the deal for his sensational 9,788 square-foot home, but it's every bit as astounding as Rivera's, and potentially a steal by comparison at only $6.5 million.
The Mediterranean-style mansion sits on 2 acres and includes 6 bedrooms, 6 full baths, 2 half baths, a gourmet kitchen, library, game room, wine cellar, gym, playroom, theatre, and a screened patio.
Outdoors the property features a baseball mound, basketball court, an outdoor kitchen, and an awesome pool with a grotto spa, waterfalls, and a sweet slide.
