Here’s something a retail loss prevention officer doesn’t deal with every day.A St. Louis Walmart had to be evacuated after a woman, who was being detained for shoplifting, was found allegedly making meth with her portable “shake and bake” lab in the loss prevention office, reports Patrick O’Connell at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
She used a 20-ounce soda bottle to cook the meth while she was being detained in a holding room. It’s unclear what she had tried to steal in the first place.
The building, which was “full of customers” of people in it at the time, was evacuated. A hazmat team cleared the loss prevention room.
Police said that the meth had “the potential to be flammable or blow up at any time,” though the evacuation was precautionary.
Nobody was injured.
