While the McLaren MP4-12C has been lauded for it’s performance, many reviewers have said that the English car feels like it was built in a hermetically sealed lab (it was) and lacks the passion of cars built in Italy.
They also say the design is boring.
Now that we have seen the MP4-12C in person a number of times, we can understand what they mean…we just don’t necessarily agree.
Our good friend Billy Stewart saw an MP4-12C over the weekend in Manhattan with an added touch of flair. It has a day-glo strip, like the McLaren F1 cars, on the front end. It’s not ostentatious and actually looks pretty cool.
To us, it resembles F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton’s chin-strap beard. His just isn’t dayglo orange.

If you answered yes to these questions, please send the picture to [email protected] with the subject line “Spotted.” Be sure to include where you saw it to be considered for our Photo of the Day.
