Last month, we showed you all of the BMWs that were modified under their Art Car program.
The gist is that they would present one of their models to a world-famous artist, who would then paint the car is his or her own distinct style. BMW then either raced the cars or put them on display for all to be enjoyed.
Only one art car made it out of the collection to private hands. An M1 painted by Frank Stella sold for $854,000 at Pebble Beach in 2011.
But what if you wanted to have one for yourself? Reader Firat Ayas spotted a BMW in Tottenham, England that appears to have a very creative owner. The car, which looks like an E36 318 Ti, has had designs applied to the body that are reminiscent of the cave paintings that were on A.R. Penck’s BMW Z1 Art Car.
For better or worse, this is definitely the most interesting 318 Ti we have ever seen.
Have you spotted a rare or unusual car/plane/train/boat/industry person in your travels? Did you take a photo? Do you like sharing?
If you answered yes to these questions, please send the picture to [email protected] along with where you spotted it to be considered for our Photo of the Day.
