Last night, Derek Jeter picked up two hits, leaving him four shy of 3,000 for his career. And now fans are scurrying to get in position to be on hand for the historic hit.
Early indications are that Jeter will sit tonight in Cleveland. That will leave him with four games before the All-Star break to pick up the hits in front of his fans at Replica Yankee Stadium. The Yankees will begin the second-half with an eight-game road trip in Toronto and St. Pete.
And based on secondary market ticket prices, fans think the milestone hit will come on Saturday. Here is a look at average ticket prices for the next five games. The two hits last night shifted money from Sunday (down 8%) to Saturday (up 43%).
