A fire raging on a boat on Lake Lyndon in New Zealand was put out by the clever actions of an unidentified boater, who raced toward the fire, turning at the last moment and kicking up a wave that quenched the flame.
It’s unclear exactly what was happening with the flaming boat, but based on the calm conversation of the people filming it, it does not seem to have been a deadly situation.
One onlooker is surprised by the appearance of the impromptu fire fighter: “What are you doing!” he says, then “This guy’s a natter,” after several passes at the boat.
The mystery boater may not have saved any lives, but he or she certainly found a handy new way to put out future fires on the water.
