Ad startup Solve Media has a plan to kill off the pre-roll advertisement that it thinks will make users and advertisers happy.
Instead of sitting through a pre-roll advertisement, Solve Media will give you an option of typing in a branding message from the advertiser.
So, you could see a Ford ad, or you could just type in, “Built Ford tough,” and the ad would go away.
On the one hand, it’s nice to be able to zip past a boring ad. On the other hand, there’s something creepy about typing out a branding message, right?
