The Republican party is clearly not too happy with former presidential candidate Jon Huntsman.
Two sources told Buzzfeed’s Zeke Miller that Huntsman is no longer invited to speak at an RNC gathering of fundraisers and politicians in Palm Beach this weekend. He’s not even welcome to show up.
The snub is the result of comments Huntsman made on Morning Joe last week in which he hinted at the need for a third-party candidate.
“Gone are the days when the Republican party used to put forth big bold visionary stuff,” he said. “I think we’re gonna have problems politically until we get some sort of third party movement or some alternative voice out there that can put forth new ideas.”
“At its core, the Republican Party is a party of ideas, but the current toxic form of our political discourse does not help our cause,” he added later.
Well, at least he can still look forward to speaking at the international plastics exposition in Orlando this April!
