Kseniya Sobchak, once memorably described by the New York Times as the “Russia’s answer to Paris Hilton“, has been arrested in anti-Putin protests in Moscow, according to tweets from the socialite herself.Due to her family connections (her father was essentially the mentor of incoming President Vladimir Putin) and glamorous lifestyle as a TV host, Sobchak’s support of the anti-Kremlin protests has become high profile.

Putin returned to the Russian Presidency on Monday after a controversial reelection, and a number of prominent opposition leaders have been protesting in central Moscow since then, resulting in some violent scenes.
