In a special Thursday election segment of “Saturday Night Live”, the late-night comedians took aim at Mitt Romney’s recently revealed disparaging remarks against the 47 per cent of Americans who don’t pay income taxes, and the “Fox and Friends” coverage of the Republican candidate.Jason Sudeikis, playing Romney, said in a slightly altered clip that when he refers to that 47 per cent of Americans who will never vote for him, he doesn’t mean senior citizens, U.S. soldiers or southern whites.
He means black people. “What’s the big deal?” asked Taran Killam, playing co-host Steve Doocy. “I like seeing an honest moment from a politician,” added Vanessa Bayer, playing Gretchen Carlson.
The faux “Fox and Friends” hosts got their hands on a few other secret Romney videos, too. In one, Romney tells the Cash Cab game show that he’s not interested in answering questions for a measly $25. In another, Romney sings in the shower, “Oh, poor people hate having jobs … the only thing poor people hate more than condoms is waking up and going to a job.”
That video, the hosts agreed, is a little harder to spin.
