Just two weeks in, we’re already huge fans of Firefox 4. It’s a noticeable improvement over the previous version in speed, design, and customisable options. But customising has its downside too. It’s no secret that loading your browser with add-ons can slow it down. Some add-ons are worse than others.
Mozilla has done everyone a favour by releasing a list of 10 add-ons that are known to significantly slow down Firefox 4 when it starts up.
We have the list here. If you think your browser is running slower than it should, make sure you’re not using one of these add-ons. They’re ranked one through 10 by how long they slow down Firefox’s startup, with number one being the slowest of them all.

FoxyTunes lets you control your computer's music player (iTunes, etc.) from within Firefox. You can also view artist information and album covers of your current song.
FoxLingo is an all-in-one language add-on for Firefox. It translates, checks grammar, and has a built in dictionary for the web page you're viewing.
