“Slack is fundamentally changing the way we work. We’re very fortunate that a lot of our growth in Australia has happened organically and that growth has been driven entirely by the positive impact Slack has on the teams”, he said.

“We’re now really looking to take it that next step further and make Slack an essential tool for teams of all sizes, including the enterprise, across all industries.

“To say I’m excited about what 2018 has in store would be an understatement. There is a lot of momentum with Slack locally, and competition is heating up, so it’s an exciting time to be a part of the team. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in.”

This year Slack surpassed six million daily active users and nine million weekly active users, with 55% outside the US.

It signed major partnerships with Google, SAP, Salesforce and Oracle, launched a product for teams of 500 or more, and advanced its platform’s search and learning using AI.
