The Washington Post‘s Reliable Source blog reports that the school cafeteria has listed its Wednesday lunch as its “Pearl Harbor Day” menu.
Even more bizarre than the lunch itself is what the children at Sidwell Friends will be eating today to honour the attack. Japanese food — no joke.
The Reliable Source has a picture of the heavily Japanese-inspired menu, which includes Asian mushroom and oriental noodle soup, garlic roasted edamame, teriyaki chicken, and other more generally Asian options.
The school tells Reliable Source that the menu/date is “completely coincidental.”
