Sergio Garcia won his second straight tournament this weekend, after going winless for three years. And now, Garcia may be the best golfer in the world. After posting an 11-stroke win a week ago, the third largest margin of victory in the history of the European Tour, Garcia won the Andalucia Masters in Spain by 1-stroke over Miguel Angel Jimenez.
After peaking at number two, Garcia fell to number 78 in the world rankings. With the back-to-back wins, Garcia has now jumped to number 20 in the world golf rankings and would have to be an early favourite when the Masters rolls around in April. Garcia’s best finish at The Masters was fourth in 2004. But he has missed the in three of the seven trips to Augusta since then.
Now that Sergio looks like he finally has his game clicking, that first win in a major may finally come true.
