A third-year law student at Florida State University College of Law allegedly shot a second-year student over the weekend after the second-year student threw water on him.But here’s the kicker, the third-year student says he doesn’t remember anything about that night.
Tyler Thomas claims he threw a cup of water on Jeffery Heller, causing Heller to shoot Thomas in the back as he walked away, Above The Law reported Tuesday.
Heller eventually turned himself in, but told police he doesn’t remember shooting Thomas.
He told police he “has no recollection of any events after 11:30 pm last night when he was at a local bar in Midtown,” according to the arrest/probable cause affidavit (via Above The Law).
Heller went on to tell police he woke up in a random car in a parking garage the next morning.
“He does not know the owner of the car he was sleeping in and found his vehicle nearby in the parking garage,” according to the affidavit, which added he had no memory of driving his car to the garage.
Heller was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, according to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office booking report.
