SecondMarket Wants a Piece of Groupon IPO

Reuters reports that SecondMarket is trying to get its clients in on the Groupon IPO. The company’s senior vice president, Jeff Thomas, reportedly engaged potential investors by email to gauge their interest. SecondMarket is working with Morgan Stanley, one of Groupon’s underwriters. Morgan Stanley, Groupon and SecondMarket didn’t comment, with the former two not responding to Reuters’ requests.

Reuters adds: ‘Participating in Groupon’s IPO may be a departure from SecondMarket’s original approach.’
