Miami cops are warning each other to approach the city’s homeless population with caution after a suspect tried to eat an officer’s hand.
Police arrested Brandon De Leon, another homeless man, this weekend after he and another man got in a fight at the entrance of a North Miami Beach Boston Market, the Daily Mail reported.
After he was arrested, De Leon reportedly banged his head against the patrol car’s glass and yelled “I’m going to eat you,” to police.
Once in a holding cell at the station, De Leon growled at officers and “opened and closed his jaw slamming his teeth like an animal would,” the Daily Mail reported.
Police found De Leon was under the influence of a drug called bath salts, also known as Cloud 9.
Police suspect Randy Eugene, the man who viciously attacked Ronald Poppo over Memorial Day weekend was under the influence of bath salts as well.
In court Monday, De Leon told the judge he had no recollection of the weekend’s events.
