This year’s Black Friday shoppers have a totally different attitude and are more relaxed than years past.
Because stores are opening on Thanksgiving, shoppers aren’t camping overnight and aggressively waiting in front of stores before Black Friday, Ron Boire, president of Sears and Kmart said in an interview with CNBC this morning.
“The trend is having Thanksgiving dinner, then going out and going shopping. We saw consumers in the store last night and there’s a different attitude where shoppers are more relaxed,” Boire said. “These consumers are different from somebody who has camped out until 6 a.m.”
Walmart also reported a calmer Black Friday than usual thanks to opening Thanksgiving night.
