SCARAMUCCI: This Is What A Good Hedge Fund Looks Like These Days

SkyBridge Capital’s Anthony Scaramucci seeds hedge funds, he’s started hedge funds, and he writes (in his new book ‘The Little Book of Hedge Funds’) about — yes — hedge funds.

So he knows a thing of two.

This morning the outspoken man lovingly known to many as Mooch told CNBC’s Squawk Box team what the best hedge funds are doing (number wise) in these troubled times.

Basically, no one is doing 50-60% returns anymore. Event the best managers are bringing in high single, to low double digit returns — “that’s a home run for investors,” said Scaramucci.

The Squawk team asked him if he could name anyone in particular who he thinks is doing a good job and he sent a nice shout out to Pine River Capital. He said they’re doing great things with mortgage backed securities and seeing 12% returns.

These are brutal times.
