The temple president who tried grabbing the gunman during yesterday’s horrific shooting at a Sikh temple in Milwaukee, Wisc., has been identified as one of the victims, NBC Chicago is reporting.Satwant Kaleka tried to stab or stop the shooting suspect, who reportedly killed at least six people during yesterday’s shooting.
“The FBI told me specifically, ‘Your father must have been a hero because he at least slowed him down in order for people to get to safety,” Kaleka’s son, Amardeep Kaleka told NBC Chicago.
Amardeep Kaleka said authorities found a blood trail lin the lobby, which prompted police to speculate Satwant Kaleka tried to stop the gunman in some way.
Satwant Kaleka was shot twice, according to NBC Chicago.
We’re just starting to learn the names of the victims from yesterday’s shooting. Four died inside the temple and three, including the shooter, died outside the building, WISN reported.
Three men were taken to Froedtert Hospital, where they remained in critical condition Sunday night.
