Sorry Android Lovers, You'll Have To Wait A Bit Longer For Samsung's Next Galaxy Phone

Following rumours that Samsung’s new Galaxy S III won’t be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month, the company has confirmed it is definitely delaying the announcement. In a statement to The Verge Samsung says:

The successor to the Galaxy S II smartphone will be unveiled at a separate Samsung-hosted event in the first half of the year, closer to commercial availability of the product.

While that may be disappointing news for Android lovers, we think it makes sense. Samsung introduced the current Galaxy S II at MWC last year, but it didn’t launch in the U.S. for another several months.

We’ve heard that Samsung has a tentative event planned in NYC some time in the next few months, so it’s possible we’ll hear about the Galaxy S III then.
