Samsung and Google are working on a new Nexus-branded tablet with a 10-inch screen that has a higher resolution than the iPad, according to CNET.The news comes from analyst Richard Shim of NPD DisplaySearch. Shim says he has supply chain sources who tipped off the tablet.

The 10-inch tablet will be a high-end tablet, competing with the iPad, not smaller and cheaper tablets. Shim also said Google will offer a new $99 tablet in December, which lines up with earlier reports that Google will drop the price of the Nexus 7.

Just a quick note: This news comes from an analyst, not a primary source with direct knowledge of Google’s plans. Some analysts are really good at predicting products based on their supply chain sources, but the best information comes from sources within the company.
