Russian authorities have revealed that last October they arrested a Chinese man suspected of espionage in Moscow, reports the BBC.The man, Tun Sheniyun, had been posing as a interpreter but was in fact trying to find technological and repair documentation for the Soviet-era system using bribery, according to the allegations.
A statement from the FSB (the KGB’s successor) said:
The investigation established that the Chinese national (was) working on assignment from the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China.
So far, there has been no formal response from China.
